  10.        The changes to the IRIS InSight Viewer product since release
  11.        3.0.4 (IRIX Applications CD; August 1997) are as follows:
  12.  
  13.           +o SGIHelp now uses an instance of the WebViewer library
  14.             (webviewer.sw.eoe), which allows it to view HTML "help"
  15.             books/pages directly, without having to launch an
  16.             external web browser, such as netscape.
  17.  
  18.           +o Along with the ability to view HTML "help" books,
  19.             SGIHelp has undergone a user interface redesign. No
  20.             longer are there 2 distinct windows (previously called
  21.             the "Index" window and the "Viewer" window). Instead
  22.             these have been collapsed into one window, with the use
  23.             of panes and other controls.

  25.             SGIHelp has the following _n_e_w features:

  28.                +o The ability to set bookmarks on specific help
  29.                  cards/pages.
  30.  
  31.                +o The ability to "pin-up" a viewer. This allows the
  32.                  user to keep one help card/page "static", while
  33.                  utilizing the main window to continue to navigate
  34.                  amongst other help cards/pages.
  35.  
  36.                +o An expanded print function; allowing a user to
  37.                  print the entire set of help cards/pages for an
  38.                  application.
  39.  
  40.                +o Better navigation controls, including back/forward
  41.                  arrows and a "quick-help" status line (which can
  42.                  be turned "on" or "off" under the Options menu).

  45.           +o Added the ability to change foreground and background
  46.             colors for the InSight and SGIHelp viewer windows. This
  47.             capability is _o_n_l_y available for books (re-)published
  48.             and distributed with IRIX 6.5.

  50.             To do this, override the following InSight and SGIHelp
  51.             application defaults in a local .Xdefaults file:
